PostHeaderIcon Baseball gloves – what is best fit?

My girlfriend and I were shopping for baseball gloves (regular baseball infielder/outfielder) because we though it would be fun to play catch sometime. She has never worn a glove a before and felt like the glove should extend past the heel of her hand and basically cover her wrist. From what I remember, this is not the case. Any help in finding the right fit?

A baseball glove that fits good is very importnant. There are adjusting glove with a tether strap that lets you tighten to fit better. A glove should not cover your wrist though. When you do find a glove, keep a baseball or softball in it when you are not using it. It will help break in the glove and make it easier to catch a ball. A glove that is broken in has more flexibility. You don’t have to spend alot of money to get a glove to fit your needs. After all, you arejust having a catch with your friend. I would head to the local sporting goods store and take a associate and ask which would be the best fit. A decent glove would probably run about $40-$50 bucks
Have fun playing catch!!!

PostHeaderIcon Can I Use My Cutters Football Gloves For Baseball?

I have a pair of older Cutters WR gloves that i wont use anymore. Do you think they would work for baseball or no? Thanks

Yes you can, but they won’t last very long. I knew guys who used Newman "tackified" gloves because they liked the sticky feel. WR gloves are made more for "feel" than protection, however, so they won’t protect you from blisters as well as real batting gloves and they probably won’t last more than a couple hundred swings.

PostHeaderIcon would it be ok to use my baseball gloves for lifting weight? would it mess them up?

if i use my baseball gloves for lifting weight would it mess them up

By "baseball gloves" I am assuming you mean batting gloves? I think it would be fine, seeing how both a baseball bat and a bar on a weight are shaped similarly. You might want to talk to your coach, though. He/she would probably know best [:

PostHeaderIcon What is thew difference between the new WIlson A2K and the older A2k model baseball gloves?

PostHeaderIcon What is the difference between baseball, t ball, and softball gloves? Why use any one of them over the others?

A baseball 1st-baseman’s mitt has a HUGE pocket. Won’t any of the three sports’ gloves work well for any of these sports’ balls?

The balls are different sizes which is why the gloves have different size pockets.
The first baseman mitt is built to scoop balls out of the dirt, it is not like other fielders gloves.
You can use almost any glove in any position.
If you use a hardball glove in softball the ball may not stay in the pocket when fielding a hard hit shot.
The t ball is about the same as a hard ball so they could be inter changeable, but don’t use the soft ball glove for hard ball or the hard ball glove for soft ball.
