Tough one.
Suggest you contact the Globe Newspaper (if they are still in business).
Also, perhaps the Public Information Officer at Camp Lejuene can dig through files to locate photos which you apparently think existed at the time. 50 years is a long time. Good luck.

PostHeaderIcon help me 2 get into a baseball camp?

im 18 i use to play little league but after that stopped i pretty much stopped playing but i do wanna get back into the swing of things. so can anyone help me out

The thing with Baseball is that it is not as hard to get back into as other sports are because a lot of a person’s skills on the diamond are from natural talent. I’d say if you are naturally gifted at the game it won’t be that hard to get into it. You should look into camps though. Ask around your city or go to the nearest Parks and Recreations Office.

PostHeaderIcon baseball camp stats…..good??

So i went to the University of Indianapolis summer camp a few days ago and got my results in the mail today. I kind of wish it would say if they were above average, below average or something like that but it does not. I am 17 years old and play center field most of the time. HERE THEY ARE

Bat speed: 79 mph

60 yard dash: 7.18

Home to 1st: 4.16

outfield arm velocity: 75 mph

Thats all they have down. We also took BP and stuff like that and outfield but there really arent stats for that. I was invited again to their next camp so im guessing i did okay.

Thanks!

I’ll give you mine from when I was 16 (a while ago), and the ratings I got for comparison.

Your running speed is above average. An amazing 60 time is sub 7, and around a 7.4 is average. I ran 7.5, was considered just slightly below average. Home to first is above average too. In fact, Im surprised your 60 isn’t faster, because you’re done accelerating. Good running scores though.

Your outfield arm is around average. I was a pitcher, so I was closing in on 90 with my outfield-home throws. (I did an all-position camp). I was hitting 87 on the mound. You can work this with continuous long toss and strength training.

I can’t really tell you bat speed. I was calculated for the speed of the balll off the bat, not bat speed. I’m guessing you still want to work on it, as I believe pros are closer to 90.

Honestly, take these results more as a checkpoint rather than an actual score (or result). Try to improve all of them, and you’ll be a better player. Thats a given.

PostHeaderIcon What are some good coed baseball/softball overnight camps?

I am looking for a good summer camp on the east coast for boys and girls who play baseball and softball. Does anyone have any suggestions for a 14-year-old softball player?

Thanks.
Haha… You guys are hilarious!!!
I’m looking for a real answer not your desperate attempts to be funny.
Thanks

Hi JMB,

I suggest you check out http://www.choicecamps.com. This free camp referral site lets you search for camps by location, compare camps, and watch videos and dvds of programs throughout the world. The website allows you to explore exciting summer opportunities where you can meet new people and see new places all over the East Coast.

I suggest you check out Brookwood Camp. It is located in Glen Spey, NY. Brookwood Camp offers state-of-the-art facilities and provides campers with professional coaching in the sports they choose and has beautiful baseball and softball fields. To find out more information, visit: http://www.choicecamps.com/overnight-summer-camps/new-york/brookwood-camps/119/

Best of luck with your search for the perfect camp!

PostHeaderIcon What should I bring to sleepover camp (extras)?

The camp I am going to is called All Star Baseball Camp, it is sleepover, and the sleeping quarters are located in college dorms. They allow you to bring basically anything. There are computer, tv, and phone lines, many outlets, bathrooms in the dorm, etc. Besides the obvious clothing materials, does anyone have any suggestions to any other extra stuff i could bring? Electriconics, food, whatever.

Cell phone, ipod, game boy/psp, and chargers (very important). If your lips chap very easy make sure you have chap stick or you will regret it trust me!!!
