Seen as you do sooooo much reading and writing, maybe you should start writing your own hobby book with all the ideas that you get from the answers given.
Failing that, do something that you can make money on and not something thats just gonna go on a shelf.
Good one at the min, cos everyone is loved up after valentines and maybe planning weddings, is making tiaras, hairslides & accessories. Good Luck!

How about scrapbooking? You use your photos and glue them into an album then you write what the photo is about, it’s kind of like journaling with pictures. It’s a great way to record your own personal history for your family and friends.
You could make your own greeting cards also with the same supplies you get for scrapbooking.
Another hobby I got into is eggshell artistry. You’ve heard of the Russian Faberge eggs? Well it’s the same concept but instead of using real jewels you use rhinestones. I have worked with all sized eggs, from a budgie to an ostrich and many in between. They can be turned into trinket boxes or music boxes among other things. You can get really creative and use your imagination. Just do a search for a site near you to get started and the thing I found amazing was that people are so taken by the novelty of it that they wanted to buy my eggs, so it can be a profitable hobby.
Good luck keeping the boredom at bay with these hobby ideas.

Have you caught "that’s clever" on HG-TV? or " Crafters coast to coast on diynetwork? Those shows can let you know what people are creating around the country. also Carol Duvall’s shows will show you things that are out there. Decorative painting, origami, beads and jewelery making, fimo clay creations, wood burning, miniatures and doll house creations, knitting and crocheting, which i like because they are portable, mosaics which my sister does, makes great furniture, and sale-able, gardening, collage, furniture restoration, mural painting, tole painting, floral design, (which can be expensive) jig saw puzzles, and paint by numbers, My brother does wood working, creating painted wood designs for holidays, Anything that relaxes you is considered a hobby. you need to decide if you want a hobby that produces something at the end, like knitting, or a hobby that keeps your brain working, like crossword puzzles.
It is all good!
